Liikekieli.com

Liikekieli.com was born from an experience in the dance field  that the existing media were not able to adequately deal with and reflect the diversity and pluralism in Finnish dance. The web interface was set up with dance artists, viewers, editors, and the dance field operators to share their ideas, showcase their work, discuss the dance and the search for new creative approaches to dance within. National Arts (2008), as well as dance-Honorary Award (2006) are indicative of the quality of operations and its impact on the cultural life of our country.

For Liikekieli.com the basic idea has remained the same, although the company has evolved and taken on new forms of work over the past few years. Liikekieli.com is a meeting place for the dance and the surrounding community, the creation of which all are welcome to join. We strive towards a more communal and democratic media, challenging the traditional way of thinking, according to which the only editor to control the direction of the publication.

Liikekieli.com is an attempt to make visible and permanently available the thoughts and experiences of dancing. It is an attempt to enable an innovative activity. It is an attempt to make dance available. It is an attempt towards a vibrant culture.

The publication has since its start nine years ago reflected movement in  Finnish dance, the ever-growing audience, as well as society and culture in different areas. We can proudly say that we have significantly contributed to our dance field and the development of communications in the 2000s.
