The project Šokis žodžiu – ne[w]kritika took place in the festival AURA‘23
A project of critical writing Šokis žodžiu – ne[w]kritika (Dance through Word – Not[new]criticism)continued its activities in other international dance festival – Aura’23, on September 18 to 22 in Kaunas. Nine participants were selected from the number of persons willing to live part of the week in Kaunas and spend evenings in theater halls and after performances quickly write reviews.
Before the festival several seminars were held on dance performances’ analysis in Arts Printing House in Vilnius. Lithuanian dance critic Vita Mozūraitė were couching on the components of the dance review, Finnish based Lithuanian choreographer Andrius Katinas was presenting a study of choreology and German based Lithuanian dance critic Ingrida Gerbutaviciute were talking about national and international cultural features and its usage a main or subtheme in the dance performances.
The best reviews were published on Kaunas dance theater AURA site and in the online journal www.dance.lt of Lithuanian Dance Information Centre, also on the websites kamane.lt, kaunozinios.lt, kaunoaleja.lt, bernardinai.lt and in the newspapers “Kaunas’ Day” and “Nemunas”.
