Writing Movement in Textival, Gothenburg

 

Four movement artists have invited four writers to inscribe themselves into their choreographies while they are being performed during the festival, as a way to jointly explore the meeting between movement and text, body and words. The event takes place Saturday 3/23 at Stora Teatern, in Gothenburg.

The program is a collaboration between Textival and Dansbyrån which is the Swedish partner in Writing Movement.
12.00-12.30 pm

Janinne Rivel/The Wood Rabbit + Eleftheria Gerefoka

Jannine Rivels artistry is choreographic poetics based on varying and nonlinear opposites. Actor, Eletheria Gerefoka is now in the play Lucy on Angered Theatre but is also working as journalist. Here they meet in the solo The Wood Rabbit, between stillness and movement, and in close relation to the deepest structures.

Elnaz Paiamani + Mindy Lara

Elnaz Paiamani is a dancer and rapper linking contemporary elements thogether. This time she makes a complex choreographic and musical remix tribute to folk music from north-western Iran. Mindy Lara is a freelance journalist with a keen interest in music, working with text, video, design and photography and are constantly looking for the ultimate expression, possibly the arising of the recipient.

 

6.30-7.00 pm

Frauke & Helena Persson/Libration + Kristofer Folkhammar

“In a state that we do not want to leave, that the darkness of night helps to strengthen, you will find that wich is awake.” Frauke, butoh dancer and choreographer, meets sound artist Helena Persson in a sound installation and performance art, with choreography and sound are created in harmony. Kristofer People’s Hammer is a writer, literary critic and employee of the journal Ord & Bild.

 

9.30-10.00 pm

Moa Matilda Sahlin/Lion YOsee + Sara Hallström

Moa Matilda Sahlin working with choreography as movement of thought. Sara Hallström is a poet and writers educator. In their cooperation they find themselves interested in feelings and actions related to the language and body language. Minna Elif Wendin and Jannine Rivel participate as dancers in Lion Yosee. A science poem of lived experiences, mirror neurons, hope and vibrating bodies.
